Three days into the school year and I’m already sick of it! How lame is that. I mean, it’s my senior year! should be loving every moment of my high school experience, not despising every minute of it. Most of it has to do with the teachers, though. I am absolutely sick of teachers who are just there because they have to be, not to help you better your skills and prepare you for the future. Thanks to my so-called “English teacher”, I now have to give a 30 minute presentation on a topic I have zero interest in just because she didn’t want to listen to the topic that I had picked. I thought teachers were supposed to encourage you to do something, not make you suffer through it. Oh, that’s wrong? My bad! Some of my teachers are doing this thing called “flipped classroom” which makes me just hate them that much more. If you don’t know what a flipped classroom is, it’s basically where the teacher emails you a link to a teaching site and you take all your notes at home, then when you get to class, you do your homework. The idea didn’t sound to bad to me at first. I understand that I’m responsible to take notes and then when I get to class, I can get homework help from the teacher. But do they actually help me? That has yet to be seen. My math teacher, who is really big on the flipped classroom, told us today that she’s just teaching us the material to pass the placement test at the end of the course, not things that would actually be useful in a day-to-day situation. I just want to be done with everything already and go back on break!
